I would like to put together a small team and we could grow together. I would need people who can commit to at least one project a month for a minimum of six months. I like people who aren't afraid of brainstorming or making suggestions for the betterment of the team. I would appreciate team members who have some computer skills in regards to having photos web ready. But most of all I'm looking for artists who are passionate about their art and want to have fun creating.
If you think you would be interested and want to know what kind of little perks I will offer to everyone on the team please send me an email through the store Contact form or click on this link http://www.shabbycottagestudio.com/store/WsContact.asp and please give me a link back to see samples of your artwork.

We went down the road a piece for an uphill climb over the mountain range behind us, headed for the next valley over, to see if they had any more color than we did. Our first stop gave us a great view of our own valley but as you can see, not a whole lot of color yet.
So we continued on in our hunt.
And as you can tell still not a lot of color
to be seen.
Color or not, this brought us to a stop!
The only color here was some practicing rock climbers.
And while we determined that this weekend was not to be
the weekend for our color drive
Lo and behold, Mother Nature did not send us home
empty handed and there was color to be found...we just had to look in the right place!

I sometimes realize I am really not up on things, as apparently Frank Warren is an award winning author, and this is his fourth book in this series. Actually Amazon probably says it better than I ever could:
"For the past three years Frank Warren has invited people of all backgrounds and nationalities to send him creatively decorated postcards bearing secrets they have never before revealed. He has shared these PostSecrets on his award-winning blog, www.PostSecret.com, in an internationally traveling art exhibit, and in three electrifying books: the bestselling PostSecret, My Secret, and The Secret Lives of Men and Women. "
Anyway check out his blog, it's well worth the visit. They just recently hit their 100th million visitor! Talk about a community art project.....the video gave me goosebumps.
I have a big warm thanks and a hug for Deena ofSweet Annee Tattered Works of Whimsy for featuring myself and some photos of my work on her Whimsy Wednesday this week. If you haven't been to visit Sweet Annee, please take a moment and pop on over. Deena's blog, like Deena herself, is warm and inviting, like a crackling fire in the fireplace on a cold winter day. And the music she's playing sends me over the moon!!
And finally here is the freebie of the day. Every time I see this image for some reason I'm reminded of Miss Gulch (the witch played by Margaret Hamilton) in Wizard of Oz, riding her bicycle. Go figure. Must be because it's Halloween month :-)
Don't forget to pop by the store, the free collage sheet offer ends Tuesday. And as always my many thanks to all of those of you who do stop by!

I know I could have more offerings, more versatile offerings, more exciting offerings...but right now it has to be what it is... with an expectation of growth. So I hope y'all will hang in there with me and I'll do my utmost best to grow it in a good direction. I have some ideas and thoughts of where I'd like to head but that will hopefully all be part of the growth.. ;-)
I'm trying to make room in my studio for my sewing machine and looking forward to heading back to the studio with some ideas for creations, after spending a summer walking past the door more often than through the door.
I also want to thank everyone for your kind words, well wishes and words of encouragement. They mean all the world to me.
Many Artful Hugs,
