Finally, New inventory uploaded to the store :-)

I've got a few pictures to share with you of some of the new inventory I finally got all listed in the store. I'm awaiting another great order and then I get to do it all over again.

I've added Swarovski crystals in Crystal, Light Rose, Light Sapphire and Peridot...for now. ;-) Gotta love the bling!
More Kimberly Poloson. These are her Flourish clear stamps. I also have the Flourish rub-ons. Very sophisticated and elegant looking I think.

We're now carrying Glimmer Mist in 6 scrumptious colors. Give your work some shimmer!

I've added more metal charms....fleur de lis for you French lovers and keys and birds!

Now the store has the Ranger Memory Glass for the 1x3 Memory Frames. Not only do we have the 1x3 frames, but also the 2" and the 1.5" and all three frame sizes are available in two colors, Antique Copper and Patina Black.

There's more and you can find everything new added in the What's New section in the left hand navigation bar of the store

A Click a Day is Little to Ask

Are you an animal lover? Do you cringe when you think about unloved and abused animals? Does it make you sad when you hear the staggering numbers of animals that are killed in shelters every day?

I am an animal lover. I believe in people taking responsibility for their animals. I believe that if someone does not want to take the responsibility then they should not have an animal. Period. No excuses.

Have you heard of theanimalrescuesite.com? They have a program to help feed and care for animals in shelters. All you need to do is visit the link and click on the banner and sponsors will donate food and care per click. This is so easy.

What I did was create a shortcut on my desktop. So now I can click on the link and click the banner every day. And if you think you will still have a problem remembering you can sign up at their site and they will send you a daily reminder!

So please, if you love animals, this costs you nothing more than a computer click or two. You might save a life with those clicks.

Okay, this is my public announcement for the month. SO GO CLICK!!!!!

Tip of the Iceberg

I have a bunch of new inventory to list, the boxes are opened but still sitting on the floor of my studio...waiting....for me. They need to be unpacked, pictures taken, (and sometimes as the case was today...re-taken) pictures uploaded to the computer and resized. Then they have to be resized once more and uploaded to the website, and descriptions written and pricing figured out. Then I can get pictures of them up on the front page of the store, and blog about them.

Oh dear, I'm tired just thinking about it. Mom and dad are offering brownies at 7pm...I think I'm going to wander over there instead. ;-) Of course there won't be any busy little fairies or trolls over here working while I'm over there eating, so it will all still be here...waiting....for me. ;-)

But I did manage to get a custom banner done today and these new items listed in the store...so I wasn't all bad today. <Insert evil grin and wiggly eyebrows here>.

Four new colors of German glass glitter
The mini pom-pom trim now comes in white
Blank wood blocks...lots of fun here!
So that's it for today and more new products are in the works.
Hope everyone has had a MARVELOUS Saturday!

Just Some Random thoughts and TGIF

Wow, July almost over. When you work at home it sometimes seems that days meld into days, meld into weeks and before you know it another month has gone by and you are left wondering where it went. Of course I know a lot of people would love the have the ability to be able to work from home and I know exactly how blessed I am.

But working from home does have some drawbacks. It's harder to meet people unless you're a joiner of groups and community activities. Which I'm not. That's the introverted side of me. And when you work at home sometimes it is hard to draw the line between work time and non-work time. For me I guess most of it is work time. ;-) But I don't even mind that because I love what I do.

For people like me blogging has become such an important part of my life. A way to reach out to others of like and similar minds, a way to make new friends and share our world of art. I've said this before but every now and then I like to stop and say it again. Thank you to everyone who stops by the blogs and comments or drops me an email at the store. I appreciate all of you. I don't always get to get back to the blog to respond to a post but between two blogs and 3 stores it's really nothing more than a time issue and nothing personal to anyone so I hope people realize that I'm never purposely ignoring a comment. ;-)

I just received a new box of goodies from my UPS lady so I'll be busy over the weekend adding some new fun stock in store. I'll post about it when I'm done.
Here's your TGIF free image. A picture of a hollyhock from my garden given a bit of a Gail twist. I wish everyone a wonderful summer weekend!

TGIF Once Again!

As always Friday rolls around with the speed of a bullet train! Why am I always surprised? LOL

In case you haven't been over to visit Mind Wide Open we've been busy adding new features. Our first "Getting to Know" interview spotlights our contest winner Pat Winters. Interviewed by our now MWO offical interviewer Sherry Smyth. Many of you I'm sure know Sherry from her blog Esprit*D'Art. She gives great interview! ;-) How do I know? Well, first I read Pat's interview. And then Sherry interviewed me for the Etsy Cottage Style blog :-) If you'd like to know a little bit more about me, you can check out Sherry's interview. Be warned...I'm not short-winded. LOL

And the other feature we have added is our Project of the Month tutorials. Through the end of the year one of our Design Team members will offer up a tutorial for you. So tune in folks, even I don't know what's coming. ;-) But I know it will be fun.

I think now that I shall wander off to the studio. I hear a project calling to be completed. But before I go I want to leave you with your TGIF free image. Enjoy and I hope everyone has a marvelous weekend!

Just a "little" digitally altered. :-)

Brand New Collage Sheet Series

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was working on a new series of collage sheets and I'm happy to announce that the first sheets of the series are finished and have just been uploaded to the "Cottage"! You can find them under Collage Sheets ~ Altered Series or you can see them in the What's New section. Right now I have offered up: Altered Children Altered Divas, Altered Ladies, Altered Ephemera and Altered Portals (only one of these so far). Samples are below.

I have spent many hours working with many layers and color blends and patterns to create these pages. They all have a wonderful depth and pictures don't always do them justice. These images allow those of us who would rather be creating than doing all the work to get ready to create, the ability to get right to the creating part. :-) And if you like the look of transparencies and transfer methods these images give you that look without the work.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I loved creating them for you.

New Decorative Papers Uploaded

Since my folks move up here and settled on the back of our property, it has become somewhat of a tradition to get together with them, and my sister and her DH for dessert...if not every week then almost. Oh man, it's a killer on my diet, but I'm not going to resist so I just cut back for a few days after. ;-) And this weekend two nights of dessert! Serious overload here! LOL I felt it was my turn to conjure something up (okay, boxed might be more like it) so Friday I took over some pecan bars and joyfully pigged out. Then today mom calls and says dad (our ex professional donut maker/bread baker) is making cinammon rolls and to pop on over about 7ish. I'm drooling already because his rolls are the BEST..all ooey and gooey and cinnamony sweet. Excuse me while I wipe my chin.

Aside from thinking about dessert today I've also brought some more new papers on board at the Cottage and thought I'd share them with you here. You can find them all in the What's New section of the Cottage.

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

Happy Friday All! It's TGIF Again! YAY!

Don't we just love our Fridays?! For most of us it means two whole days of not working, more than just a few hours spent with loved ones, time to think, to dream and so much more. After a couple much needed rainy days here in our little mountain valley the flowers are doing their little blooming dance and the vegetable garden is smiling and today is sunshine bright.

Things over at Mind Wide Open are finally calming down somewhat after a busy, hopping week! And if you haven't had a chance to get over there and drool over the eye candy and cast your vote you've got until Midnight (est)July 14 to do so. We already have over 100 voters!

It has been simply amazing what has transpired over there and I would love to see it happen again next month! Remember, even though it truly isn't about the winning, (because as I keep saying, the prize is just a motivator to get you to play) the fact is there is a prize. A $20.00 shopping spree at Shabby Cottage Studio with free shipping. :-)

I have a brand new series of collage sheets that are going to be released within the week over at the store and I will announce the release here with a preview of a couple sheets. This is a series near and dear to my hear and I've been working hard on them. They are one of a kind and different from what you're used to in a collage sheet. So stay tuned. I think they're beautiful but one could say I'm a tad biased about them. ;-)

Well I have my usual Friday errands to run and so I leave you with this week's free image. A little something I put together digitally for you. Hope you enjoy it. And I wish everyone a great weekend!

Check Out the Awesome Art! Then Vote!

Oh. My. Goodness. Over at Mind Wide Open we have had the most amazing response to the brand new blog and Contest Challenge! Thirty three artists/crafters all working with one image in different mediums have deigned to take time out of their busy lives and create some beauty. So please stop by and check out the eye candy at Mind Wide Open and then cast your vote for your favorite. It's hard folks. Real hard.

And since I totally missed our TGIF free image Friday I'm adding it here. On Tuesday. What can I say. I'm getting old. ;-) In honor of my BFF Liz who shared the weekend with me.
